Flutist and music educator Hilary Goldblatt earned a M.M. in Flute Performance from the University of Michigan. As an undergraduate, she performed with the Yale Symphony Orchestra in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to Korea. A Vermont resident from 2007-2023, Hilary engaged audiences at Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, Vermont Mozart Festival Orchestra, Vermont Symphony Orchestra, TURNmusic, and played principal flute with the Opera Company of Middlebury. In 2024, Hilary founded Trio Afinado to perform Brazilian music with guitarist Matthew Downey and percussionist Blake Fleming. She loves making music with the children of Bainbridge-Guilford CSD where she is the Orchestra & Flute Ensemble Director. Hilary serves on NYSSMA’s Composition Committee and is proud that she encourages her public school students to become composers.
