Guest Artist Workshop

Each year LDYE hosts a professional artist or band for a concert and music workshops. The free public concert is attended by students from many of the area schools as well as university students and the general public. A variety of musical genres have been presented in these concerts – Texas swing, rock and roll, folk, bluegrass, jazz and tango. LDYE students join the artist on stage to perform two musical selections at the end of the concert.

After the concert, a free music technique workshop is offered for any musicians, student or adult, who want to attend. Workshop attendees learn new skills and improvisational techniques. There have been as many as sixty people attending the workshop in recent years.

This project is funded by Earlville Opera House's Arts in the Community Grants Program, made possible by the NYS Legislature with support of the Office of the Governor, and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts.
